In a bid to tackle #PeriodPoverty we are aiming to supply all of the town’s secondary schools with free sanitary products. We have launched our period poverty campaign, Darlo’s Big Sister, to help raise awareness of the problem and are looking to the town’s businesses to offer monetary support and product donations. #JennyChapman MP for #Darlington is a keen supporter of #DarlingtonCares’ campaign and is hoping the work we are doing will help young women in the town. #CountyDurham #PR

Following our #ParkAuction, four #Darlington firms have worked in four #parks in the town to help improve them for the local community. In early 2012 businesses in the private sector, supported by Teesside University and Darlington Borough Council, came together to talk about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and employee volunteering, with the view of coordinating resources to address Darlington’s community needs, particularly in areas of disadvantage. Darlington Cares was establish in October 2012.
